Have you ever played Bocce?

Most people answer, “What?”

Some of heard of the french Boules or the more common bowls and petanque.  But it is basically about throwing your balls as close to the jack as possible.  So you first of all throw the jack, which is a slightly smaller ball, out about 5 metres away.  Then you throw your balls as close as you can to the jack. Each player or team can also knock their opponents balls or the jack out of the way.  Closest to the jack gets the most points and wins.

Bocce originated in Italy (boccia means to bowl in Italian…).  Whilst the game may be relatively small in the US, USAbocce.com are working hard to raise the professionalism of Bocce.  Check it out… it may be the game for you!
